Today we face the analysis of Falling by Harry Styles, included in the album Fine Line, one of the greatest musical successes of this year. It shows the performer in an inner room, dressed in a shirt representing Romanticism, and sitting at the piano. From that stool he interprets this song, as the water level rises. Until he ends up interpreting the song underwater, which is a metaphor for what the singer feels about lack of love.
As for the image, it is striking to see how the musician is drowning as the song goes by, and yet he continues to sing, even though he is totally submerged. Without a doubt, the video directed by Dave Meyers managed to construct and transmit the concept of solitude and sadness to the spectator, thanks to the impeccable work of photography and lighting with dark tones.
Harry Styles released a video with one of his most emotional songs, as the lyrics describe the suffering of a person after a love separation. A melancholic element is the presence of water in the room where Harry appears to be down and ends up underneath it, which transmits a moment in which the pain surpasses him and he drowns in crying and desperation.
